IAFI represents the world fish inspection community helping them to provide fish, seafood and associated products that are safe, of acceptable quality and readily available for sale in the global marketplace.
The goal of the World Seafood Congress organisers is to build and enhance partnerships between IAFI members and all seafood professionals and specialists to benefit global seafood trade. It also aims to profile innovation in seafood and provide opportunities for maximum participation by all economies involved in seafood trade – including developed and developing economies. This is accomplished by various means throughout the international event– expert panels, debates, workshops and formal presentations.
Grant funding for attendance of young fish technologists at the 2015 World Seafood Congress.
IAFI is pleased to announce that the IAFI Board decided in August 2014 to adopt the Peter Howgate Award for young fish technologists. It also decided that the 2015 IAFI Peter Howgate Award will fund the attendance of a young fish technologist (under 30 years of age) at the IAFI World Seafood Congress 2015 in Grimsby UK, from 5th to 9th September 2015.
